We can give our warm recommendations to anyone considering going to Kyrgyzstan in general, and with Ecotour in particular! We spent two weeks in some of Ecotour's yurt camps, and it was a highly memorable experience. Ecotour was very flexible and had arranged a programme that suited our wishes perfectly.

Cultural spring and fall tour in Kyrgyzstan

Dates: 19/5 –2/6 and 15/9 – 29/9. Price: 1170 euro p.p. if 4 or more participants.

In spring and in the fall, we organize cultural tours of 2 weeks. In spring you can enjoy the flowering trees around lake Issyk-Kul and the alpine meadows are covered with wild flowers. In fall the color of trees and bushes change into bright red and golden yellow

Enjoy a two week trip around Lake Issyk-Kol, the large mountain lake at the east of Kyrgyzstan. Stroll around the beautiful Kemin valley and the Ala-Archa national park. Experience the honest hospitality of the Kyrgyz people. In the capital, Bishkek, you can visit museums and, if possible, attend a concert or theatre performance. You can shop in the oriental bazaar. We can organize a sauna visit, or maybe a relaxing massage, if you prefer. You can soak up the sunbeams of the warm late summer on a terrace downtown Bishkek while you sip your tea and write your travel journal.

Your tour around the lake is by minibus. Lake Issyk-Kol and its impressive scenery will give you the opportunity to hike and swim. Spend a night in a yurt, visit Kochkor and Bokonbaevo. Both small villages are well known for their handicrafts and felt making. Day trips to an old style spa and to Karakol, the biggest town in the east of Issyk-Kol, are part of the itinerary. If you visit Karakol on Sunday you can visit the famous animal market, and you can admire the Russian-orthodox wooden church as well as the Dungan mosque originally built as a lama temple.

You will visit the Burana tower, a remnant of a city on the old Silk Road. On the north shore you will find the archaeological open air museum with the petroglyphs, stone carvings of the Scythes, who lived in the region between the 10th and 1st century BC.

In Jengish you will be accommodated in a guesthouse, in Bishkek and Karakol you will stay in a hotel, on the south shore you will spend the night in a yurt in Sonun  and in Kochkor, Tamchy and Kemin you will stay in a B&B.

The itinerary of your tour might be altered due to availability of hotels and guesthouse. Don’t hesitate to ask for the travel program that will be applicable for your preferred travel date.
