About tour

If you are active and adventurous we can offer you this unforgettable trip. Imagine yourself cycling in the mountains, 3 days hiking in Tong and maybe some horse riding in a yurt camp at 2.450 m above sea level. During your stay you learn about Kyrgyz traditions and legends, and meet many local people. You need to be in good physical condition and have the expertise that is required for the activities you want to include. You can either bring your own bicycle or rent a bicycle in Bishkek.

You should bring a sleeping bag, isolating (air) mattress, warm clothes and raincoat. Our interpreter and local guides will accompany you and are ready to help you if it is needed. Encounter the life and the culture of the nomads of Kyrgyzstan.

In Bishkek you will spend your nights in the Hotel Umai. During the cycling part of the tour you will sleep in B&Bs and yurts, nomadic tents made of felt. During trekking you will sleep in small tents.

See how herdsmen make ‘Kymyz’, the national drink made from mare’s milk. Listen to the children singing their songs and playing their instruments.

Mountain passes, bad tracks, off-road, and firm climbs over 3000 m characterize this route.
Not all slopes are steep, but some are very long and on dirt roads.
But it is worth the effort.
